I am writing this blog as I think it is a good thing to do to keep myself sane. I chose "Mental health awareness and wellness" as it is a topic that I am passionate about: especially because I lived in person some controversial issues and I like to think about "mental health" in a holistic manner, within the approach of personal development and healthy relationships building. Excluding extreme cases, we all face everyday health and mental health challenges.. My focus today is about self-love and creativity. Indeed if any form of mental illness exist is a lack of love or at least self-love. Life can be hard at times. Life has ambiguities...and people too. Some situations can be extreme, degrading and very painful. And the 90% of the times they have an impact on our wellbeing, i.e. the capacity of feeling relatively confident in yourself and have a positive self-esteem, feel and express a range of emotions, build and maintain good relationships with others, live and work productively, cope with stresses of daily life, adapt and manage in times of change and uncertainty (this definition of "wellbeing" is taken from www.mind.org.uk) Some situations are a question of "justice" too. - It is the case for example of "poor" communities with no access to resources for personal development and a level of knowledge about how to solve some issues like children's death rate or conflict and war - It is the case of child abuse - It is the case of human rights It is not my interest today to develop this topic: justice. However, I have had the chance to study something about it, others could say the privilege...and I am thankful. At the same time I have suffered some challenges too. Today I can speak about it in a serene mood. For those painful moments I had panic attacks, eating disorders, insomnia and traumas...I found a way out thanks to the discovery of self-love and creativity Of course psychiatry classifies a lot of illnesses and symptoms. And sometimes this classification can produce even more pain than healing. Today I say psychiatry is just a branch of medicine. There can be good doctors and bad ones. It of course depends on the capacity to heal someone towards a more constructive path of life. I also would exclude that depends just on science. It depends of course on a lot of factors ...like the doctor's beliefs system, their moral, ethics, capacity of being resourceful, community. I am not a doctor. I have just half degree in economics and a good high school diploma in humanities. It might not mean anything, but in this case means I have some tools of understanding and method. Another thing I would love to add is that I love reading books and articles about self development and transformational psychology. I am also passionate about health and healthy lifestyle. If you are here today I would like to tell you: take care of your mental health and wellness. Love yourself: raise your awareness, take care of yourself, heal yourself, develop healthy habits, connect with people that make you feel good, when you can help someone else, set boundaries. Be creative: explore your resources, read books, get out of your comfort zone, learn something new, celebrate your wins, take care of your body, follow positive pages and people on social medias, be lovely, create something. WORK ON YOUR MINDSET AND HEALTHY HABITS Nowadays we often focus on getting degrees and overwork intellectually and we forget about moving our bodies, to feed them healthy foods and to have and maintain an healthy routine. Studies demonstrates that moving your body and having an healthy routine have the effect to produce chemicals in your brain and body that give you a sense of happiness and relaxation like serotonin and other endorphins. It's a question of energy. Improving your mindset and physical activity you heal your body/mind system. That is what personally has helped me a lot: sport and improving my habits. You can find a lot of resources online. A page that I like right now on IG is called "myselflovesupply". Have a look to this and other posts here

Literally it has changed my vision and it has given me a lot of strength reading some books like: 1) "Mi merito il meglio" by Lucia Giovannini ( "I deserve the best" which currently is not available in English it seems, but might be available in other languages). Lovely book about healing yourself with a lot of inspirational stories.
2)" A whole new life" by Lucia Giovannini. Similar to the first book, but this one develops in a wise manner a system to transform your life and mindset/vision taking into consideration your starting point, your personal story and the goals you want to achieve. Suggested to deconstruct stories of limitation and to discover your possibilities.
3) "You are a badass at making money" by Jen Sincero. If you have money issues this is the book to read or listen to. Jen Sincero with an hilarious storytelling guides you to discover how to become rich and cultivate your inner wealth. Highly suggested, this book is part of a series of books that will help you to develop your badassary.
4) "Fu*ck feelings. Less obsessing more living." by Dr Michael Bennett and Sarah Bennett . I did not finish this one yet. I read half of it. But it has helped me much during a period of non-sense. It gives an insight about how to face extreme situations. Less spiritual and more insightful for hard situations and with a lot of sense of humour. It is actually nice to read to improve your knowledge about health issues, in particular mental health.
